Krótki opis
Fabuła serialu skupia się na Karze Zor-El, która urodziła się na Kryptonie, jest kuzynką Supermana. W wieku 13 lat zostaje wysłana na Ziemie przez biologiczną matkę, aby uchronić przed śmiercią. Dziewczyna zostaje wychowana przez rodzinę Denversów w Los Angeles, która ją nauczyła jak używać nadprzyrodzonych zdolności.
24-letnia Kara, jest świadkiem spadającego samolotu, aby uratować ludzi, musi publicznie użyć swoich zdolności. Kara biegnąć boczną alejką pozbywa się swojego cywilnego przebrania zdejmując niepotrzebne okulary, ściągając i wyrzucając swą kurtkę a następnie podrywa się do lotu aby uratować spadający na miasto samolot. Po udanej akcji, media dowiadują się o istnieniu Supergirl. Od tego momentu Kara postanawia zostać superbohaterką zakładając kostium Supergirl.
